Battle Mountain quickly got on the board in the first inning, as Daniel Lara had a lead-off single, followed by Angel Guadarrama reaching on an error. Liam Bundrock provided the Longhorns’ first run with a single. Those were the only hits of the game.

It was all Yerington from there, scoring twice in the first inning and adding three runs in the second inning, four in the third and six in the fourth.

Mills added a second hit in the fourth inning and Bundrock walked but the next three batters were retired.

In the nightcap, Battle Mountain used back-to-back doubles from Bundrock and Travis Obieta and a single from Hernandez to cut the gap to 8-3 in the sixth inning. The Longhorns would get no closer.
