Humboldt County Pets at the Pound

The following animals were recently picked up by Animal Control. More information on impounded dogs at the Sage Heights shelter is available by calling the shelter at 623-6403 or Sheriff’s Dispatch at 623-6429 and leaving a message, 24 hours a day. When calling, be prepared to provide the dog’s description, license number and general area in which it was lost.



July 25

A male black Spaniel mix was a citizen drop off. *Reclaimed

A male black Husky mix was picked up on Grass Valley Rd.

A male tan Terrier mix was picked up on S. Bridge St.



July 27

A male white Maltese was picked up on Minor St. *Reclaimed

A male white & brindle Pug mix was picked up on Railroad St.



A female gray Pit Bull was a citizen drop off. *Reclaimed



A tan Chihuahua was a citizen drop off.



A male white and tan German Short Hair Pointer was picked up on Paiute St.

If you are looking for a canine friend to adopt, please call us at 775-623-6403. Dogs are available for viewing every day from 8 a.m – 4 p.m. Licensing is a city and county ordinance. Please license your dog. This will help us get him back to you should he become lost. The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center can be reached at 1-888-4-ANI-HELP (1-888-426-4357). There is a fee for the call.



Of the dogs impounded since the last report, one has been reclaimed by their owners and none were adopted.
